Exercise and Autism

Most parents, educators and even autism professionals are unaware of the positive impact of exercise on autism. Bridging the gap with the ASD population, evidence-based exercise increases confidence, improves focus, reduces autism symptoms and establishes a lifelong healthy habit.

"The presence of exercise, as well as the support system that comes with group activity and a team-like setting , can improve health, social challenges and the overall wellness and lifestyle of adults with autism“ ~ Madison House Autism Foundation (April 2017). Children on the Spectrum benefit from physical activity just as much and perhaps more, than typically developing children” ~ The Talcott Center for Child Development (May 2017).

“Regular exercise can prevent or reverse weight gain and has therapeutic benefits.…may help decrease harmful self-stimulating behavior and delivers the same health boosts as it does for neurotypical kids and adults” ~ Verywell health - Sports for Kids with Autism (May 2019)

Our National Survey of Autism Treatment Effectiveness, given to autism parents, found that exercise was the #1 rated treatment overall with a rating of 4.2/5, substantially higher than the 2nd highest rated treatment (physical therapy) with a 3.8/5. ~ Dr. Jim Adams, Ph. D. Director of Arizona State University Autism/Aspergers Research Program.”

What our parents are saying about the DangerousFit Autism Exercise Program:

“If you’re looking for a fitness program for your child with autism, look no further. Dangerous Donna works so well with my son and motivates him to complete his workout routine in various ways. She is truly and angel in disguise.”

-Ashley Davis

“Excellent location and overall experience for my autistic grandson to get cardio and weight training. He looks forward to going and feels a sense of belonging and accomplishment he does not get from sports. In the eight sessions he has completed with “Dangerous Donna” there has been a noticeable difference in his physical appearance and attitude toward exercising. Donna is patient and makes the entire experience rewarding.”
