THE TPI GOLF SWING PHILOSOPHY CONSISTS OF TWO OPTIONS: EFFICIENCY AND STYLE. TPI BELIEVES EFFICIENCY IS MORE IMPORTANT.

The Titleist Performance Institute “believes golfers will benefit the most from a healthy and efficient body.”  The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer because efficiency is unique to each player’s body and physical abilities.  Our TPI expertise in Golf Fitness Training is to educate and train you specifically for a golf-fit body and improve “you’re unique” golf swing.    

Your first step toward a powerful and efficient swing is to be golf physical fitness and movement quality TPI screened.  Once the TPI Golf Fitness screen is completed, your results are used to create golf physical fitness plan unique for you.   A proper warm-up, conditioning and stretching routine will maximize your performance and decrease injury over the long run.  Golf is a physical taxing activity that can stress joints, muscles and tendons throughout the body.

Golf is more physically demanding than many people imagine.  It requires not only flexibility and strength but also good muscle balance and postural stability.  A typical day on the golf course can include swinging more than 100 times (both practice and the actual game), leaning over 30 – 40 putts an bending 40 – 50 times picking up balls.

SCREENING – THE FOUNDATION OF MOBILITY/STABILITY

Why movement screens?  

Gross movement screens identify weak stability patterns and impaired mobility better than isolated musculoskeletal assessments.  Mobility is the combination of normal joint range and proper muscular flexibility; therefore, mobility establishes a base for efficient power production. 

Stability is the ability to keep one part of the body secure while stretching and contracting adjacent segments of the body.  Therefore, strong body stability allows the body to generate speed and create a powerful golf swing.

SCREENING – ITS QUICK AND SIMPLE

It will take only 30 minutes of your time to complete 16 screens which will TPI evaluate “your” swing characteristics and which body segments are holding you back from a powerful golf swing and greater distance.
